03 Disco will not start

03 Disco will not start

I went out to start my disco this morning and when I turn over the key I just hear a loud, rapid"ticking" noise and the engine does not turn over at all. Does anyone have any ideas what this might be?

Dead battery, not enough juice to turn the engine over but enough to "excite" the electrics.

Thanks for the help! I replaced the battery and it started right up.
