standard on the D1 and 04 D2. Easily retrofit on to early D2 but not as simple on the 02-03 models.

 

My 2004 Land Rover Discovery 2 transmission just got broken. The front driveshaft yolk broke and then smeshed the transmission. So now I have to replace the transmission.

I sourced a used transmission from a 2003 Land Rover Discovery 2 which doesn't come with the CDL. The part store said it would fit to a 2004 Disco 2, but my 2004 Disco comes with the CDL function even though I never used it. I am wondering with the 2003 Disco 2 transmission, would I loose the CDL function on my 2004 Disco 2? or the transmission has no effect to the CDL which only goes to the transfer case?
