Default '03 Oil Pump Issue

I don't know why, but all I've been thinking about is this Oil Pump issue. I've owned the car for 3 years now. Taken good care of her and never had any serious problems....

But I'm getting worried about this. I love my Disco. Can I replace anything, the oil pump itself, something else to fix? Should I trade in?

It has 68,000 miles.

Any feedback is very appreciated!

Well, your screen name fits you perfectly then.
Nothing you can do other than keep your eye on the oil pressure light.
If that comes on while driving shut her off NOW and have it towed to a shop.
If youi were going to have a problem you should have had it by now.
I would be more worried abouit the front driveshaft and head gaskets.

Does your truck fit into the vin range Rover has established for the problem engines?
Yes, there is on thing you do do, as a last resort, sort of a band aide fix.
Let us know where you vin is.

Keep your oil changed regularly and let it go. You have made it this long, and no problems... They fail at any given mileage, and all years had some problems. My 97 had a block replacement at 50K due to a failed oil pump. It happens.

Just drive it and enjoy it.

If your oil light flickers "ONE" time, you quit driving it and have someone replace the oil pump. With a little luck and no damage to the engine you may have enough left in the old engine to wear out one more pump.

Thanks Mike. It just doesn't seem right! Now I have to watch for that and make sure my wife and daughter or anyone else using the car knows also.
