04' disco knock at idle
I just looked at an 04' Disco the motor was replaced approximately 3500 miles ago with an Alantic British motor. After the test drive me and the owner hear a knocking noise comming from the motor. The noise is the loudest when by the front drivers side tire. The noise will go away at approximately 1500 rpm and return at idle. It does not change with engine speed. The vehicle has 102300 miles on it. With only 3500 miles on the motor could it be a sleeve or possibly the cat coming apart? I am not sure where the cat is located on the disco, any ideas?
CATs are left and right, sorta even with front driveshaft. If you want to look at it, a pre-purchase inspection by a mechanic would be a good idea.
As stated above, most would avoid this truck. At 3500 miles, what is his recourse with installing shop and AB?

The gentleman is going to take to the mechanic (a highly respected independent tech) for an inspection as it does have a warranty. I told the seller to let me know but as of now as you all have suggested it is of my list off vehicles. So my search continues which is a pain because there are no Disco's near me all are 11/2 to 2 hrs away.
