Default '04 Disco passenger window doesn't work

yesterday my passenger door window went down half way and refuses to move up or down anymore. Every time I press the window switch, I hear what I think is a relay making a "clicking" sound that it seems to be coming either from the door panel or underneath the glove box.

Has this happended to anyone? What do you guys think is broken or could be the problem?

Any advice is welcome.

thank you very much.

its either a bad window motor or more likely a bad window regulator.

dont worry it has or will happen to all of us. mine went 2 weeks into ownership.

good news is that in wither case you are spending a couple hundred bucks and you can replace a bad motor or regulator in a couple hours (working slow).

remove door panel. remove plastic moisture barrier. you will see the window motor and regulator assembly in the door. unbolt it and reverse the process.

Default Not unusual

Sloppy is right. I had the same problem with my 98 Disco LE within a year. I am not at all mechanically savvy and I was able to change mine out myself. I found a new regulator online for about $100 and changed it out in a hour or two. If you hear the clicking then the motor is most likely fine. Just pay attention to how you took it apart. My regulator was wadded up like a pretzel. Good Luck!
