Friday afternoon I was running errands and all was fine... After stopping at cvs for 5 mins I got back in the truck and it wouldn't start. When I turned the key everything turned on inside the car except for the car itself.. It will not turn over just a quick noise and then nothing.. Anyone plz help

What does the noise sound like?

Also, when you say it wont turn over do you mean it wont crank or it wont turn on? That's a commonly misused term.

It could be a bad starter or battery connection. That's probably what I would check first. If it just makes a clicking sound, it may be a dead spot in the starter motor. Maybe try tapping on the starter. Sometimes that will get it working again.

It was the weirdest thing... No issues.. And all of a sudden the car just wouldn't start.. I checked the battery it seems to still have juice bc it's powering my radio and all other electrical **** in the car.. I dunno... I had to have it towed home yest

How did you check the battery? I'm just curious because the radio and that kind of thing uses far less current than the starter. If you have no other way to test the battery, one thing you can try is to leave your dome light on and then try cranking the engine. If the light dims significantly when trying to crank the engine, the battery probably doesn't have enough power to turn it over. The headlights are really better to watch for dimming. Though keep in mind some vehicles shut the headlights off when cranking. So it's not always an accurate test.

If the lights don't dim at all, I would look towards the starter or power and ground to the starter. From your description, it sounds like the starter may be bad.

I had a friend check the battery with a volt reader.. It read 12v and when hooked up with jumper cables from truck to truck it went as high as 13v... Is the starter on the same side as the battery? 04 D2
