Default 1" Lift?

Yesterday during the marathon brake session I notices that most of the springs under the truck were losing their rubber/plastic coating and rusting. One was really bad, so I was wondering;

1. Is a 1" lift mild enough to keep everything stock?
2. Where can I find a 1" lift

I just bought brand new tires all around so I want to keep it pretty much stock. Only off roading I do is across fields in search of game.

Opinions/tips?

Toddcosuspensions have 1" lifts but i would recomend going with a heavy duty spring instead of a spacer.

First of all, if you have over 60K on your truck, your springs, shaock and steering stabilizer are shot.
Second your truck has probably settled close to an inch and a half. There are no true 1' lifts and depending on your driving and if you go wheeling, this is what will determine what coils to install.
What size tires have you installed and how many miles are on your truck?
Also while talking about your truck, have you read up on our front drive shaft issues and have you had your rebuilt or replaced yet?

I agree with mike, my suspension was "sagged" pretty bad and Installed new springs and shocks.........what a difference & the new stock parts gave me 1" of height back. This weekend I intend to finish the job and will start a thread with some details as well as measurements.

I didn't know that I didn't know how bad it was.

Hey all thanks for the prompt replies. I only wanted 1" because I want it to stay stock and have a little bit better ride.

My truck is an 03 Discovery SE with 85k miles on it. I was thinking of replacing the coils, & shocks at the same time make it a complete package. One of those things in that as long as I am there I might want better performing parts. Tires are stock 255/55/R18 on stock rims.

When under there yesterday I looked for but did not see any air bags. Is it possible I do not have air suspension?

Im not a rock climber or mud bogger, just need a little more clearance and better ride. I dont want it to be bouncy. I replaced the regular shocks in my beetle with HD Bilstines because someone said taxi's use them for 100k miles or more.

I wish I never had it rides like a full on sports car now and is bouncy as hell going down the highway. Sure the shocks will last forever, not sure by butt will.

So ,if you know of a comfortable ride with about 1-2" more clearance whereas I wont have to modify anything please let me know.

Send me your number and lets talk about what your option are. A lift will great enhance your ride on the road and off when the right parts are ordered.
