Default 18" Max Tire Size

Anybody know the max tire size that will fit a stock Disco II with 18" rims?

What are you going to do with your truck, will it be with or without a lift?

I'm guessing without a lift Mike, if a lift was involved it would be worth it to get the 16" rims

true?

True. No lift. I have Michelin 4x4's on there now, but after 60K on them it's time for new. I want something a little more aggressive.

The 18" tires available with more offroad-ish treads are expensive. Without a lift you wouldn't be able to move up much in tire size. Part of the problem is your current saggy shocks. By 60k, your shocks and springs are sagging and you are 1" lower than the factory ride stance.

You need new shocks and springs anyway. Get some with a modest lift and you can fit up to 265/65/18 which is roughly 31"

I just replaced the compressor and bags in the SLS. How tough a job is it to replace the springs in the front? I put on a spring conversion kit in the back and took it back off, is it much harder than that?

It is a two hours jobs the first time you do it.
Is this vehicle going off road, if so how ofter? Did you install the 2" RTE SLS spacer in the rear yet?

I go off road maybe 2 or 3 times a year, but it is serious off-roading (as much as I can with a stock Disco). If I lift it up, I will get the spacers along with the springs and shocks. I guess I can sell the spring conversion kit I took off, but it's nice to know it'sin the garagejust in case.
