Default 2” lift with 18” Wheels - What’s the right tire?

Hello - I added the 2” terrafirma kit to my rover. Now I’d like to upgrade my tires. I know the 16” wheels would result in cheaper tires but I don’t have the $ to change out my stock rims.

With that in mind, I’d like to get a larger, aggressive AT tire that won’t rub during normal use. I’m not doing anything extreme with my disco but would like to take it off road when it is complete. I was thinking of going with the 265-65-18. Thoughts?

I’ll just add bf Goodrich tires (new) arrive slightly smaller then advertised as spec.
Give you a tad more breathing room in front than anticipated.

Default 265/65/18 Goodyear Duratrac's

Here is a pic of my 2002 Disco with a 2" lift and 265/65/18 Goodyear Duratracs. Very slight rubbing on the stock front bumper. Just had to trim a bit and trim the front inner fender liner. In my test fit my Arb number (not yet installed) clears it fine.

I don't know what you intend to do with this, but I would just note that tires for the 16" wheels are both cheaper and better for off-roading, and 16" wheels are a dime a dozen on Craigslist or pick-your-part junkyards.

255/70R18 = exact size as Jeep JK/JKU/JL/JLU so you can find 5 take of tires for cheap normally. Last 2 sets I got = FREE and with maybe 200 miles on them.

yeah I looked around but had a hard time finding 16” rims for cheap that would fit the lug pattern.

We’re in the exact same boat I’ve done some research and it looks like 265/65/18 will work just fine for our lift.

(TF MD 2” all stock no bumpers)

ive heard 275/65/18 will fit aswell (tempting)

That's odd. Disco 2 rims are so common my coworker threw out a set a couple weeks ago.
