I would definitly put a used tranny in too. Kinda wierd that there cheap and plentiful....for a Rover.

Don't put your ATF in until the tranny is installed. Get everything ready (have the old tranny hanging with a couple bolts) then go rent a tranny jack for a day, do the swap.

if you go the used route, when your changing the filter you can add a D1 oil pan and dip stick

Used known good is better than used known broken.

Also, make sure you fill the torque converter with ATF before you install it, lest you burn it up with the first turn of the key.

Swap your existing shift linkage arm onto the XYZ switch on the new transmission before you install it.

Then, sell your old XYZ switch and recoup 1/2 the cost of your new transmission. lol

Looks the the linkage lever at the XYZ switch is bent, you will need to straighten that out.

Install new trans, If the XYZ switch is good, sell your old one off the trans that is no good and recoup some of your cash.

Going rate it $100 ish.

Absolutely! The truck shows PRND321 just fine so I'm betting the switch is fine and the shift arm on the truck is also beautifully straight! I will be trying to figure out what I can sell off this thing for sure to make my money back. I'm the cheapest guy I know and apparently the luckiest as well... Just picked up my last check from the shop this morning and have to sign in at the hall! Yay union..... I guess I have time to work on the "Drover" as my little one calls it. He hates that it don't go. Its basically his truck at 5..
