Default 2000 Disco 2 a/c water leak on driveshaft

Hello everyone I’m chris! I’m new to the rover forums & I recently purchased a 2000 LR disco 2 from a friend of mine. He had mentioned to me that the a/c water leaks onto the front of the driveshaft causing it to rust overtime and that I should keep an eye out for it because in the long run it can be dangerous causing the driveshaft to fall apart and ripping everything out with it. So my main concern was to see how I can possibly keep the driveshaft from getting wet from the AC water. So my question was, has anyone dealt with this before? And has anyone maybe created something to bypass the water from leaking onto the front driveshaft? What I mean by creating something, I meant by a tube running through past the driveshaft causing the water to leak to the ground instead of on top of the driveshaft.

that's not the concern with the front driveshaft. The concern is the heat from the catalytic converters drying out the grease in the Ujoints and then causing the driveshaft to self destruct, which usually hits the transmission bellhousing and means a new transmission as well as a new driveshaft. conversely, you can have the shaft rebuilt with grazeable u-joints instead.

you can also swap in a new driveshaft with greasable u joints and grease them every oil change and you'll be fine.

as for the AC drips, you can clean them out with a hanger and even attach some tubes into them to route the AC condensation past any parts and directly onto the ground. That's what I have on mine.
