2001 cdl
It's seldom that simple. Land Rover made the LT230 with the CDL nipple until it ran out of stock on parts. It's a lot like when they started making the Range Rover Classic and DI with 24 spline diffs. It happened "sometime in early 1993." The only way to know was to check the serial number on the axle assembly. There was no fixed cutoff date. The easiest way to check an '01 is to crawl under the truck and feel for the nipple on top of the front output assembly.
Mine came off the assembly line stamped 04/01...it has the nipple...just crawl under the passenger side and reach up where the front drive-shaft meets the transfer case and feel for it...make sure you talk sweet nothings before you feel her up...
Like I said, it's not like there was a definite date for the change. One truck could have rolled off the line made in 03/01 without the nipple and yours rolled off the line a month later with one. If you're looking for logic look to another marque.
