Default 2001 DISCO

I'm interested in buying a Discovery...01, 02, or 03. Are they known to have any engine problems, esp. regading oil consumption? etc?
I have found this 01, Disco that is being offered with a 24month, 24,000mile warranty. ANY THOUGHTS or concerns regarding these SUV's would be great..I have a VW jetta now (04) and i want to hop back into an SUV..Thanks! -Kyle

Basically i plan on just using it to travel back and forth from school (Harrisburg) to home(Doylestown-round trip 280miles-all highway miles)...and some occasional trips to Georgia.

There is no noted problem with Rover engines burning oil, leaking, that is another story.
As for an extended warranty, ths would be a great idea, everything is getting more and more expensive to repair, Rovers included.
The Disco will make a great driver and give you some good times off the road if you ever try it.
Good luck,
Mike

ok, what about this leaking? won't leaking result in having to fill up the oil?
sorry but i have a few more questions: Fuel type? reg, mid, prem? How much are oil changes? every 3K?I realize that most the time people post comments about cars online they are only for the worst, so i'm trying to look past that with the Rover, because i did with the Jetta, and its been a great car. Thanks again, Kyle

Oil leaks are kind of a joke with Rovers, Seems everything built by the Brits leaks oil, don't worry about it.
Fuel in preium, oil changes are pretty much the same as any other vehicle with a six qt capqcity. I do my own usually but will some times go to Walmart and have it done for around $25.
