2001 no start after new engine
Make sure the braided ground strap between the driver's side firewall and the cylinder head make it through the engine switch.
Crank sensor may have gotten damaged in the switch over.
I would fit a new one and do the spacers and see where you are from there.
You have the fuel pump jumped so you have fuel.
I would crank it and then pull a plug and see if you can see or smell fuel on the plug.
You could try unplugging and plugging the crank sensor back in to clean the contacts on the plugs.
I would also try the key fob to lock / unlock the doors a few times.
And there is that hood switch problem where you leave the hood up and the switch is up.
I did not have any of those issues. But, I just did the heads.

Also if you think about the 11k the previous own got qouted I could see a dealer charging it or at least close to it. AB sells a new long 4.0 block for somewhere around 6k that still needs Intake, all the sensors and a few other itema. I'm not sure how many parts the dealer would reuse off the old engine but once u start throwing in hoses and a few other things I'm sure you could easily tack on another 2-3k at dealer pricing not to mention dealer labor rates for removal and replacement.
I'm not saying its fair or even cost effective
