Yep. Now is the best time for him to do it.

Thanks for the heads up, I'll fix that up this weekend with the PCV mod. Not driving it for another week anyhow so it's the perfect time.

Edit: Just checked out that hose, I'm still going to mod it but it is intact. There's a little plastic double-ended connector piece holding the hose to the engine currently. Loose for sure but intact.

Hello Bosshogt,

I haven't done anything yet other than activating the HDC while going down hill. The ABS unit really fired up and was pumping like it should. I did this a few times.

I've ordered a vacuum pump brake bleeder off of Amazon. Should be here in a day or so...

Any recommendations with the vacuum pump?

Thanks

All you need is a button and some wire like in my pic above. Use it to manually activate the ABS pump one caliper at a time.

Now that you activated the HDC and it worked you need to bleed at the calipers again. You're only half done. You can manually bleed with someone putting their foot on the pedal for you.

I've read that the ABS unit does not entirely "bleed" with the "toggle switch" idea......?! HDC or computer is more appropriate they say...

True?

Ok, so I've bled the brakes via the toggle switch ABS idea. It worked pretty good. I bled about 2.5 litres out of the system. Got some bubbles towards the end on the rear calipers. (Though I'm not sure if they were from leak at the caliper nipple or were from the air in the lines.

Brakes are much more powerful.

The only concern I have is that the only way I get maximum braking is by heavy "threshold" braking. The brakes won't grab if I go to "slam" on the brakes. It is quite soft when I do that.

I should be able to slam on the brakes in an emergency *and have ABS kick in as this happens...

What now??
