2002 disco 2 4.0 won't start. I was driving down the highway and the Rover just shut down. All electric electrical was still on, put it in neutral and was able to pull over. Could not get it to restart. Ended up having it towed home. A few week later. I have gone over all the fuses and relays (am I missing anything) replaced both the crankshaft and camshaft position sensor and still the same symtoms. It have a new fuel pump within the past 3 years also. I have had this for years and have done most of the work on it myself. Just stumped and help or suggestions would be great.

 

I guess start from the basics, check codes, then fuel, spark, air. I have noticed several posts regarding bad electrical connections at the fuel pump. Can you hear it when the key is turned on prior to starting?

 

Check fuel pressure. Tester available for rent from Oreilly. Does tach move while cranking? Bad CPS tach will not move.
