Default 2003 DII Block Heater

Hey guys, I just had a look around the truck and didn't find the block heater where a stock one would be. My Disco takes an eternity to warm up and I'd like to get a heater in before the snow starts falling.

My question then is, which aftermarket are you guys using and where/how to install it?

I was thinking block heaters this week too. I have one of these in my Amazon cart. Rarely gets into the 20s here in TN, but getting the oil pumping faster is always good.

Amazon Amazon

You can get the type that replace one of the freeze plugs too, no experience with those.

I get heat within 5 mins of starting at minus 20c, shouldn't take much longer

Poor man's block heater = electric blanket (in the garage), then if you need it to run warmer in the dead of winter either remove the clutch fan assembly or block off the radiator. This is severe winter storm conditions not just in the 30's lol.

If your truck is taking a long time to warm up, I would look into replacing the thermostat.
I don't remember reading anything in the RAVE about a stock heater.

X1,^,,,
Doesn't happen often, but T-stat gets stuck open every now and then, as mentioned shouldn't take more than 5min to reach at least 140*f coolant temp,
