Default 2003 Disco engine makes ticking noise

My 2003 Disco ran perfectly before I let LAND ROVER VENTURA, CA service it.

Now, Ihear a loud ticking noise when I am stopped near a wall or tall car. The noise is not detectable away from a wall.

The frequency of the noise does not change with the adjustment of engine RPMs.

Any advise?

What exactly did you have the dealer do that is now causing you all these problems?

Let's just say my car went in for routine maintenance and to correct a small coolant leak... nothing special. Two weeks later they still had my car.Eventually claimed it was ready.I immediately I noticed a slight reduction of power and the smell of burning oil.

Back to the center three more times???

Other Land Rover owners have approached me with similar stories about LR Ventura.

Any ideas about the ticking noise?

no ideas if it doesn't change with the RPMs. You sure it isn't water dripping from your a/c on to your exhaust? They may have unplugged a clogged a/c drain, you have 2 of them.. Justa thought.

Oh and as an edit, call Mike. He was in the business...he can tell you what you need to do to get this fixed right....(your whole situation). I would call him soon and not drive the truck. You are low on coolant and possibly low on oil. Not good on a Rover, and especially an 03.

Where was your coolant leak? If you want some assistance, I recommend you outline the entirerepair in detail, because in another post you mentioned just valvecover gasket replacement.

From what I'm tracking, you had a small coolant leak, it was due for services (how many miles on your truck, btw?), and Ventura told you that you needed valve cover gaskets? Now they are puking oil, and you are getting ticking.

+1 to OkDiscoGuy. DiscoMike offered, call him if you really want help with this. He has assisted everyone on here in some capacity. I wouldn't drive it until then either, that ticking could be your valves or something slamming against metal because they aren't getting lubed.
