2003 S - Low speed pulsating

I don't really know how much does it cost to rebuilt the front drive shaft on our trucks but you can buy a brand new heavy duty one for around $350. A regular drive shaft is probable $250-$280.

Let me go another direction because I think I know the "pulse" you are talking about. Usually when you slow down and are idling but rolling around 25-35mph. Feels like the truck rolls free and then drags a little and then rolls free. Not really severe, just enough to notice it.
It's the electronic tranny trying to decide what gear to use, I think after they get a lot of mikes on them it's just not as smooth as it used to be. I have noticed if you throw it in sport mode it changes the whole sensation because it alters where it shifts.
Ymmv.
PS. If you haven't done the shaft, do it anyway. Mine wasn't making any noise and was still smooth as silk. At about 108k I was doing a service on it, still had the original shaft, and my buddy was greasing the front while I was on the back and I heard him say "Oh, this aint good" Two of the bearing cups were split and coming apart. We rebuilt it the next day. I probably dodged the bullet by a couple days as I put about 50 miles a day on this truck.

We still get screwed in Canada - the OEM shaft is about $700 and the cost to import a HD shaft from the US (after freight, import duties and taxes) is almost $500...
I'm with you about the transmission - I may just have to put up with it for now.
I'm going to get the shaft rebuilt even if just for peace of mind.
Cheers,
