Default 2004 DII slow/late shifting?

Hi guys.

My DII has started to shift later than I am used to all of a sudden (no I didn't press the sport mode button). We have had bitterly cold temps lately and it has been outside some of the time (not sure if this contributed or not). I have 100K on her right now and am not sure of the last time the transmission fluid and filter was changed, flushed, and topped off - could that be my issue?
Everything else is running fine - no lights in dash. What fluid should I have them use in it?

I believe that the transmission waits until the fluids reach a certain temperature before it will shift into OD. I've noticed a delay in the extreme cold this winter, but after driving it for a few miles, it returns to normal.

Thanks. I am not seeing a change though when it warms up.

If you desire the transmission to function better in the bitter cold, then get all the fluid drained and replace the transmission fluid with synthetic - perhaps Amsoil brand so you know it is correct synthetic.

You'll like the results.

Only really two more months of bitter cold, so you could put this off too.
