I just picked up some cheap stuff from Home Depot for the roof. The stuff around exhaust and engine is DEI.

Ok - I think i got this thing in as good of shape that I can and I am going stir crazy with all the shut-in stuff. Heading up to Georgia to do a chunk of the Georgia Traverse. Planning on hitting the trail on early morning of May 15th starting in Crandall, GA. This is a relatively mild trail - about 335 miles long. Mostly forest service roads with some water crossings but nothing too extreme. Perfect for my first off road adventure. If interested, let me know! Wish I could swing it, looks like a great trip. Would love to do the Traverse one day.

Is your governor not letting you leave the state?

Default 5/10 Update

Getting ready for the Georgia Traverse. Got a lot of small things done.
  1. I had never installed the stability bolts for the front bumper or the sliders so I finished that.
  2. Also mounted the hi-lift to the front bumper (couldn't think of another place to put it.
  3. Removed the LED bar as I have some 9 inch round lights coming.
  4. Mounted some working lights on the back bumper and tied it into the rear fog lights switch.
  5. Greased front and rear drive shafts
Later this week:
  • Test my boulder deflators
  • Test smittybilt air ompressor
  • Practice with the hi-lift
  • Mount new front, 9 inch lights
  • Install new rotoflex
What else am I missing?

New rear flood lights

Hi-Lift mounted on front

Default 5/11 Update

Replaced the rotoflex tonight. It should have been a simple job but I didn’t do enough research in advance so I didn’t know I would a special tool to remove the existing centering bearing. I guess I will save that for later.

It took me a while to pull my head out of my *ss to realize that I needed to put the truck in neutral to line up the shaft and rotoflex. I also sheared one of the bolts by over torquing it. Fun.

I any case it’s done. Will test it tomorrow.

I skipped the change of the inner bearing too. Don't see an issue with it since it wasn't obviously worn or broken. The rubber piece had cracks, so it was time to change it. I changed the U-joint which was pita. Next time I will buy a complete shaft. Not worth the effort given the price for a shaft.
