What should you look for???

Ummm, a low price. Despite having HG work and a new/rebuilt prop shaft, there are about a million other things that can and will go wrong. My advice:

1) Read through the forums. You'll notice trends- head gasket and drive shafts are two commonly discussed issues.

2) Take it to a specialist and have a PPI done. They will likely produce a list of repairs around at least $3000. But at least you'll know what you're up against.

Lock actuators, window regulators, sunroof drains, various oil leaks, coolant leaks, slipped cylinder liners, failed oil pumps, overheating, plug wires are a bitch to change... The list goes on.

It's a great vehicle if you like get your hands dirty. Well fed and cared-for, I can't think of another 4X4 I'd prefer. Left to deteriorate they become a can of worms.

Oh, and if you buy it, order an Ultragauge ASAP. The achilles of these power plants is warping heads due to overheat. The OEM temp gauge is a computer controlled piece of garbage.

Cheers,
Gavin
