Default 2004 discovery secondary air removed

So I purchased a discovery and there was no check engine light on drove it a couple days and it came on for secondary air so I popped the hood and someone has either swapped motor or just changed heads with no sai the pump is still there but that’s all how can I go about fixing this issue or at least getting the ecu to think there is no secondary air

Replace all the missing SAI parts or replace the modules with those from a non-sai truck. If you live in a emissions testing area your only passing option may be the SAI parts

It would have to be a ecu for 2003-4 right? That would be the cheapest option since the heads don’t have the ports. I do not live where there is emissions testing

Youll need an ECM/BCM combo from the same truck . 00-04 will work. Make sure the its the NNN 460 ECM not the 640. You want the matching BCU to aviod immobilizer issues, Swap them out and turn the ignition key to position 2 without starting the truck. Then turn the switch off for a couple of mins. Should be ready to go. Drive for 10 miles or so....check with scan tool that all monitors are ready (one not ready is ok and the evap will not be) . Go pass emissions right then because you may still get some codes within 40 miles or so.

I looked at engine number and it started with 56d does this mean they installed a 4.0 engine in this 2004? I never could find a good way to check engine serial number.

You can ask for the matching speedo as well or you will get a flashing odometer warning(mileage will not change). And you cant sync with out a diag. tool like nanocom and then it will only sync to the higher value. I swapped mine out ,passed emissions then swapped the originals back in because I wanted my key fob back. Ideally a matching set that included the fob would be best but I couldnt find that in a 460. Most 460 parts come from 00-02 4.0 rigs. Its rare to find a non sai 03-04 4.6 rig.....that said the the 00-02 will work.

There is a compression # and serial # to the left of the dip stick.
