Default 2004 Radiator vs 2001 - I built a frankenator

So when I replaced my 2004 4.6L engine with the 4.0L that was actually running I left the front end of the engine on. The 4.0L came with an oil cooler so there were two pipes and a short little oil cooler attached to the radiator above the transmission fluid cooler. Since the mounts were broken on the 2001 radiator I just removed the oil cooler and bolted up to the 2004 radiator. All good.

One question/observation!!! HELP
There is no automatic transmission fluid temperature sensor or cable on the 2004 as there was on the 2001. What gives? Is it in another place?

Thanks in advance.

I don't think so BC the 04's didn't have the oil or transmission cooler like the 4.0 models

03-04 D2's don't have oil coolers, but they do have transmission coolers.

Transmission fluid from the gearbox is circulated through a cooler attached to the front of the radiator. Quick release
connectors on the transmission fluid lines attach to connections on each end tank of the cooler. A temperature sensor
on the RH end tank provides the instrument pack with an input of transmission fluid temperature. If the temperature
exceeds a preset limit, the instrument pack illuminates the transmission temperature warning lamp. The warning lamp
remains illuminated until the temperature of the fluid returns within limits.
Same place, on cooler not radiator.

04 vehicles do not have a temp sensor on the trans cooler. So if your vehicle is an 04', don't hook it as there is nothing to hook to.
