The plan today is to get the transfer case out and possibly the transmission. Tomorrow is engine. I've given up on taking the engine and transmission out as a unit and I have to take them apart anyway.

Taking the transmission out of the bottom is an issue because I just have Jacks, not a lift.

Quick little hijack of my own thread again.

As you can see from the pictures the donor had a musher bumper and the recipient has a new ARB bumper 03/04). I scored some pristine 03/04 fog lights to fill the holes in the bumper on ebay for twenty five bucks! They arrived yesterday. Good condition, lights work.

Hyenas apparently spread my leftover ARB parts around the garage and ate the instructions, so I'm not sure how to mount them. There are some silver rings that came with the ARB that clearly hold the lights but I'm not sure what else to use. Does anyone have ARB instructions and can shoot me a copy? I called ARB and couldn't get a human.

Anyone know how to tell left fog from right? The connector will be in an up or down position. I'm assuming that it should be UP.

Similar vein, I've already used my stock connectors to hook up my LEDs. When I swap engines and wiring harnesses I'll just hook up the fogs per normal. To get the LEDs back in business don't I just need a relay from autozone and some wire to a dash switch? The LEDs draw just under what the stock fogs drew.

Hijack over.

EDIT: Figured this one out. I got a small fuse block, some wire, a 30 amp relay, the harness portion for the fogs from the donor, and one of the extra dash switches from the donor; some 12 gauge wire back and forth and it worked on the first try. So now I have two hazard switches on the dash and one works the extra fogs. I wired them to a power on portion of the fush block so they go off when the truck does. Used a small drill bit and a grommet for the firewall.

I saw set of Land rover gasket & Bolts for 89.00 on ebay.
Wow the ECU is spooking me. I have visions of the alarm placing my truck in some sort of lockdown. Anyone else have thoughts on electronics swap?

You're right. I had blood taken for a doctor visit today and I am sitting here, light headed, in my driveway obsessing over it! Hahahhahha

Perfect! Thanks! My connectors do a 90 when they exit the housing but looking at the adjustment screw position (top, inside) and considering the angle of the lens and bumper it should be obvious. Thanks for the pics.

EDIT: And it just struck me that the giant L on the light means left, because the other one has an R on it. Duh. THanks for the pics!

Hahha yeah and drive everyone here crazy too, I think. I have developed a theory that my 4.0 has bad juju so I've resisted using anything from it.

Very unhappy night. One bolt on the transfer case mount is impossible to reach without some really odd wrench. The one by the rearmost crossmember... passenger side.

For anyone know reads this and doesn't know, if you are not working on a parts vehicle you'll want to spray PB blaster or some rust eater before you put a wrench to your crossmember bolts. Spray it in the top and let is soak down. Those bolts are made of cheese and if you round them you will be sorry. On this parts vehicle the bolts saw the business end of my reciprocating saw. While fun for me, it would have been less effort to let them soak and turn them off the next day.
