When I got my 99 D2, I noticed the rear door tweeter didn't work. I got a replacement from a buddy's shop, no go. Thinking I was crazy, I tried the speaker that worked from the other side, it played. Since then, I've tried 4 from him, 2 from craigslist, and now 2 from ebay. None work! Anyone noticed a high failure rate on these? I even tested the good side just to make sure I wasn't crazy after the 7th one...

 

Nope. But you might want to go buy a new, after market tweeter and be done with it.
