Quick Update
Using 92Octane with up to 10% ethanol I was getting 13.2mpg
My first tank of 89 Octane ethanol free I added fuel injector cleaner and when I filled up next I calculated 13.8mpg
With my second tank of 89 Octane ethanol free my check engine light cam on after 2 days of driving. I added a bottle of octane boost and the light went off late that same day. I had checked to make sure the fuel cap was tight and it was). The second tank of 89 E-Free gas got me 14.9mpg and after I put the octane boost in I notice a big improvement going up the steep hills here.
I just filled up with my third tank of 89 E-Free and I put in a bottle of octane boost while filling up.
Thanks

Your check engine light coming on is a coincidence.
I told you your MPG would increase, and you are not hurting your engine at all.

I've been using strictly 91 octane eth. free lately, and loooving it.
The specified fuel for the rig. Wish I could get it here.
I read the GM tech bulletin about "Top Tier" gasoline, and it made sense to me. Switched to Shell (the only one on their list available to me) and gained 3 MPG. Typically buy 89 octane midgrade.

My wife used to manage the Marathon Cass Rd at the bottom of the hill, it's not a gas station any more though.
I stopped using Shell fuel, my Shell runs a higher than 10% ethanol mix, they charge $.15 more than mid-grade and my MPG is horrible when I use them.
I go to Costco 90% of the time, they only sell 87 and 93 octane, E-10 though.
