when you're standing at the back of the vehicle and hit the unlock button on your key a few times do you hear the locks release in the back door? Sometimes it takes a few clicks to get the back unlocked.

I've been there Thomas. Do not pry or kick, it will not work. I did my share of that. First make sure that the outside handle is moving freely. If the spring is not returning it all the way forward, it won't open. After checking that, and the door still not opening, then it is the adjustment of the rods inside the door. unhook the rod that pulls the lever to open and try to open it manually by pulling on the rod. The handles are not pulling far enough.

Try e-bay or see if you have any local Land Rover repair shops. They often have parts from their parts vehicles.
