99 Disco II No Heat! It's getting Cold!

Changing out the intake gasket can eat up a good part of Saturday depending on how mechanical you are. Are you sure it is the intake and not the head gaskets leaking coolant out?
Make sure you get all the stop leak out, it may have been put in to stop your headgaskets from leaking, if so you may have more problems lurking under the hood.
Let me know how it goes.

Not sure exactly where the leak is. Need a mirror to see it clearly. Is one more prone to leak than another?
Can one buy a head set of do you need to buy the whole motor gasket set?
Now to dig out my torque wrench.
Any on-line step by steps or is it a pretty cut and dry procedure?

Report back from my mechanic says the heater core was in fact blocked with stop leak. He flushed just the core and not the engine as the leak is from a head gasket.
Lot's of heat now, but still a small leak.
What gaskets do I need for the job?
Saw some on Atlantic British that indicated they stop the leaks for good?

Are you loosing coolant and if so how much.
As for the gaskets, buy the factory head gasket kit on-line. Also plan on hoses, t/stat, having the heads checked and a possible valve job, new plug wires and Bosh plugs as additional things you'll be looking at when having the gaskets changed. Are you going to do the work or send it out?

It's leaking coolant out the back on the bell housing and dripping on the exhaust causing great odors.
I do not think there is coolant in the oil or vice versa. It's leaking aobut 1/2 gallon per 1200 miles. Liveable, but annoying. Leaks a tad of oil rom the front main too.
Not sure if I will DIY or not. My mechanic is balking at having his bay tied up for that long. I live remote, have a garage and a back up vehicle.
Have an engine shop that can check the heads and reman if necessary.

No, I am not positive if it is the head gasket, Mechanic is telling me this, said PO smeared sealant around the gasket area.
Need to investigate further.
I am up for a less expensive solution to the leak
