99 Discovery Won't Start
I have an automatic and it has a block that the sensor fits into. So spacing would be impossible to get wrong. I looked up on the service manual and it says it needs to have an 18mm gap. So I will check that. Then if I still have no spark. . . . ECU? And I never touch the ECU before. Also I had spark when I put the new cps then I cranked it a few time and the spark disappeared. I cycled the unlock thing that everyone is recommending for the immobilizer. Any other sensors I need to check?
Check coil pack wires.
Check the large fuses under the hood.
Take each out and look at the contacts.
Pull each fuse OUT and put it back IN a few times.
This cleans the contacts.
Make sure the red security light is NOT flashing with the key is on.
If it is - you will not start.

If that light is flashing then your alarm is somehow engauged. turn the alarm off useing your fob. I don't think that is your problem as it would not turn over at all, you'd get nothing...I think.
