Default ABS & fliud

1995 Discovery,

We have lost the brakes a couple of times during the last two months.
Both time we sent it to a dealer for service. New pads & fluid all lines have been checked.

About two days ago the ABS light came on. Is there a recomended process for checking the brake system?
What is the primary cause for the ABS light to come on? Is it something I can fix or do you recommend the dealer?

My ABS light is on too, it is adirty wheel sensor. The last person to have brakes put on my truck used cheap pads and all the brake dust mess' up the wheel sensors. Since the dealer did the work take it back to them and have them check it out at no charge. Because all was fine before they did the work I wouldnt let them charge to look at it.
If you need to make a scene in the waiting room then so be it, but the should not charge you.

On your 95 Disco, What brand of brake pads are you using, are they squeaking or dusty, was sound deadening material used on the new pads ans was the brake fluid just checked or were they flush completely with new brake fluid?
