Default ABS front sensor and 3 Amigos

I have had intermittent 3 Amigos recently on my D2. So I had a genuine new LR front wheel bearing with an ABS sensor and SLS wire. I fitted the new front wheel bearing and SLS sensor and then cleared the resident codes and all the problem 3 Amigos disappeared. It appears that the SLS sensor wire had hardened after 14 years and then either cracked due to steering movement or damaged from use etc.

My next venture at the weekend is a new master cylinder, WABCO shuttle valve seals and clips, all new TF braided brake hoses x6, new rotors, genuine LR calipers and carriers then power bleed the brakes, about 2-3 days work in all it seems. Tomorrow is to fit the new SLS Compressor piston ring and clean the compressor and air filter.

Follow up:

Be careful when removing the WABCO compressor box, the fixings are into brass serrated nuts with steel M8 bolts, the bolts seize and the serrated nuts begin to turn and you're stuffed. The option is to grind or cut off the bolts and drill out the brass nut to M8/M9 and fit an M8 bolt and nut using penny washers each side, a real PITA job but super glue the washers to the new nuts to enable easier access.

Managed to fit the new compressor piston ring today with new O ring and started to re-install the WABCO box etc but too tired to finish the job and was getting hungry as hell.

TIP: take photos of the valves and small tubes before disassembly and also the cables. Use tape or preferably plastic plugs in the valves x3 to avoid debris getting in them.
