Default ABS fuse turn on CEL?

OK posted a while back about my new rover CEL on for code 1317 ABS rough road line low fault (or something like that) figured out I had ABS but fuses were pulled and dash light was removed, I replaced the dash light and both fuses (under dash and under hood) read all ABS codes and they all pointed to sensor on driver front wheel, cleaned the sensor and had CEL cleared sense then I drove over 1000 miles and have not seen a CEL however the ABS light has been on and off. Last night I hit the brakes and I almost rolled out into a busy street! so I decided to stop and pull the 2 ABS fuses and then drove home. This morning I started the truck and sure enough there is that CEL. I have not checked the code yet but I am sure it is the same code as before. Am I not supposed to pull one of those 2 fuses and if so which one should be left alone? I can't afford to have the ABS system replaced (cant even afford to get a new sensor right now) and I don't mind not having the ABS system but I dont want my CEL on.

I pulled both fuses this past weekend due to same problem as you. Yesterday the CEL came on and I went and had the code pulled today and it was 1317. I am going to put the one under the hood back in and see what happens, if the light does not go off I will try the other fuse. I hope to trouble shoot the real problem next weekend. I will let you know what I come up with.

The fuse you guys want to pull is the 30A? ABS pump fuse from under the hood.
Leave the one under the dash in.
I pulled mine over a year ago and have not gotten a CEL from it.

yah I am sure spike is right I replaced one of the 2 fuses and the light went off, I don't remember which one it was but it turned the light off after a nice drive through the desert.

Oh good, i was wondering if the light would reset itself. I didn't even corelate the CEL with removing the fuses until I had the code pulled, so I was thinking oh crap O2 sensor time.

Back from the dead......
I'm having a very similar issue on a newly acquired D1.
When I got the truck the two ABS fuses under the steering column were pulled and I was getting CEL 1317. I replaced the fuses and cleared the code. This morning 1317 came back.
I don't care about the ABS, I care about getting rid of the code for good and passing emissons.
Will pulling the fuse under the hood prevent the 1317 code from being thrown?

All of you need to use an ABS scanner to read beyond the 1317 which tells you nothing, find the real cause, fix it and go on about your day without any more issues.

Thank you, but not my question. Obviously fixing the problem(probably a sensor) will stop the code. I'm not really interested in troubleshooting and putting money into a crappy ABS system.
