The interior/exterior are in decent shape and so far all the electrical items seem to work and the a/c blows cold.

I have now had it thoroughly inspected by a trustworthy mechanic and need the following:

all includes parts and labor

coil springs (convert from air to strutmasters) 475 REAL AXLE BEARING - HUB 681 BREAKS (pads, rotors) 442 Master cylinder 491 4 shocks 370 front crank seal 300 valve cover gasket 440

maintenance of the following w/ synthetics where app:
transfer case flush 640 transmission fluid
front diff/rear differential
fuel filter
air filter
oil change

TOTAL $3,800

The rear axle bearing is shot on the rear drivers side and he said it would need to be send out to a machine shop for repair.

The 2 seals are due to some oil leaks. Wondering if I should put those on hold and just make sure the oil levels are ok.

Thoughts from the forum? Should I quit while I am ahead and sell this thing?? Would you think its worth putting $3800 in a vehicle with this many miles? I am eager to hear input.

thanks!
Send me your tele number and I'll walk you thru your mistake.

Sorry about the initial formatting and if i mislead anyone
Here are those items and related costs (includes parts and labor0

Coil springs (convert from air to strutmasters)
$170 labor plus the Strutmasters Kit $290
There is at least one hole in the bag making the DISCO look like a low rider about 20 mins after parking it.

REAL AXLE BEARING - HUB $681
This is the one I understand the least. I know it needs to be done, but not sure how to proceed. I need to fix this before i consider new pads.

BREAKS (pads, rotors) $442

Master cylinder $491

4 shocks and labor $370 (using Monroe shocks from Strutmasters)

front crank seal $300

valve cover gasket $440

maintenance of the following w/ synthetics where app:
$640 for all of the following...
transfer case drain/replace
transmission fluid drain/replace
front diff/rear differential drain/replace
fuel filter
air filter
oil change

Mike - i sent you number and look forward to hearing from you.
Many thanks to you all for your thoughts and comments.

You never did mention why you are looking at converting from air to coils. Are you having problems with the air? If you do convert don't screw around just go with Old Man Emu springs and shocks and be done.

OK that is still a huge amount of money for those things. You can do all of those yourself for about $115 in supplies and a few hours on a Sunday morning. Let us know if you need some help getting started on the DIY stuff. As you can see unless you have piles of disposable income DIY is the way to go with these trucks.

unless your air suspension has a huge leak and can't even pump up the bags I would suggest putting that off for a while. Mine has a slow leak and I've been driving it that way for a while, drives great.

yeah whats up with calling it a "transfer case flush"? Get a second opinion on the work needed.

I also suggest giving disco mike a call.
