I'm also in the market for some new rubber, narrowed it down the the General Grabber AT2 as it looks like it is a capable tire for snow as well.

Does anybody know if 275/65/18 would go well with a 3" lift on this model

Yeah I'm a big fan. As far as I know Safari Gard is no more (at least in the US) so they are not available new any more. Try The Rover Barn - Home, but they will be hard to track down.

I got lucky and mine came with the Kalahari edition package (I inherited them as the 3rd owner, but pretty sure I'm the first to actually USE them for something other than a step to get into the truck )

Default Waking up an old thread, need tires tomorrow !!

Hi guys, nubee here. Just bought a Disco II td5 euro version with 235/70-16 stock. My target tire is the winner of Four Wheeler magazine's latest test, the Hankook Dynapro MT. I see in this forum that 255/70-16 is recommended to fit without rubbing, but Hankook does not offer that size. They do offer 245/75 and 265/70 though.

255/70 gives 3.8% over stock circumference, while 245/75 means 5.2% over, and 265/70 means 5.7% over. Anybody BTDT, found out it works, rubs, or whatever?

I run Cooper Discoverer H/T's 245/75 10Ply on my stock 2000 D2 without any rubbing or issues.

Thanks for the good news

I see the clean yellow Disco in this thread that's running 265/75s on a 2" lift. Nice. But I bet I can't run them with no lift.

You're probably right, I had rubbing on the right front passenger tire, even with the lift.

I guess that explains why you cut the front bumper up... I just noticed you removed the front driving lights.

Now you have me thinking.... the GY Duratrac you are running is 31.7 inches tall. The 275/65/18 that I was looking at getting is 32.1 inches tall and about 1/2" wider. I was going to run a Terraforma 2" lift and maybe thinking they wont fit. I see conflicting info on the forum as to what fits / what rubs/ who needed to cut things / etc. This is killing me
