Sorry, I was just talking to my husband who said I needed to clarify , we know there is a leak from the previous owner, however, this time the air compressor does not turn off when the vehicle is turned off and continues to run. This is a new issue. Normally when the car turns off the, the air compressor also turns off.
I had to disconnect the battery while I was at work and then again when I got home in order to stop it from running.
Suggestions?

Probably the leak has gotten to the point where the compressor can't keep up with it. Pull relay #5 (as I said) to cut power to the compressor. And fix the leak.

 

Or the relay has failed closed. Replacing the relay might solve the problem. If there is a leak it should still be fixed.
