Default Air Conditioning 94 Disco question

Pardon my simple questions, newby here, and no owners manual. Does a 1994 Disco use R12 or R134a? refrigerant? I can't remember when the industry changed over.

Its easy to tell R134 has quick release fittings to add and remove.

R12 has screw on type.

Yours is R134.

Doesnt matter anyways, you cant get R12 anymore.
I put R134 in my '89 (R12) Camry and it works just fine. Just make sure that you "drain" all the RF12 out and then fill with R134.

While R12 is not available to individuals, it IS still available to professional shops (at very high expense due to tax). They have to be licensed.

A product called freeze 12 is available for about 8 bucks a can here in Texas. No license required.
