As an update:

I love this setup now that I have changed the fluid and blead the brakes. Wow! No fade, nice gradual power.

I can vouch for the above statement. The pads at first impression were rather disappointing. But, now that I'm approaching 100 miles, they're biting harder.

Bringing this back. Can you get me some part numbers for the R1s and pads you are running?

Hows it going? new to the forums. i just received my akebono pads today the shims are pre installed and it came with little packets of grease (if u would call it that) should i apply it to the back of the pads or go to auto part store and get something else? Thanks in advance

These are the onse I ordered:

2 Front 2 Rear Eline "OE Factory Replacement" Brake Rotors R138081 | eBay

But I think they sent me the premium ones because they had black hubs, these things are nice and beafy.

Yes they did but I used the good stuff we have in the shop.

You can use it just be liberal, I slobbered some good stuff all over the back of mine. No squeaks, no rattles, I love them.

Yes, spread it equally on all the backing plates.

Akebono, being one of the best in the ceramic pad business only supplies the "BEST" sound proofing with there pads, why waste money buying something else.
