I do not know how much it costs to rebuild a Bosch alt, but I cant imagine it would be any different than any other alt.
The guts are all the same just different names on them.
I am taking my used alt that I got to a guy on Mon and see how much he wants to rebuild it.

Did you figure it out?
I was having issues with my alternator but rather than mess with it, I bought a reman Marelli alt. Was $185 + $38 core. btw; don't go to the Advance Auto in Kodak because I just got the last one!! bwaahahaha!!! Just kidding...I'm sure it's cheaper to rebuild it, I would rather get a reman with warranty.

You have not been following my alternator thread have you?
I am on my third Advance Auto alternator in as many months and this one is acting up too.
My original went out 2 years ago.
Went to Auto Zone, $189.
1 year later it went bad.
We were out of town, returned it and got one from Advance.
6 months later it to is bad.
Replaced under warranty.
One week to the day...bad.
Again replaced under warranty.
This one is a Mag Merrelli but the regulator is bad in in, at idle my lights flicker.
They dont flicker bad, but just enough that I notice it, my wife cant see it but I can.
So just a FYI keep your eyes out for a used one to have rebuilt or just to keep as a spare.

I'll keep an eye on it. I would normally get it at Carquest, but I didn't feel like making an 80 mile round trip. My other choices are NAPA and O'Reilly's and both are crap IMO. I got my TPS at the dealer cheaper than NAPA!!! I'll look around for a used alternator... always good to keep a spare. I also keep a battery pack in my Disco... just incase.....

I'm just trying to give you a heads up is all.
Yours may be perfectly fine and last you forever.
