Default Another Update on the Stranded Disco.

Tomorrow morning will be the true test,I guess. For thosethat areinterested, my Disco has been stranded at the GoodYear Auto for about a week & 1/2.GoodYear said the fuel pump is good, so I have gambled and ordered a new crank sensor from AB. It came in this morning. I'll be making the hour drive to N. Va. super early to install it, hopefully get it running, andrace back home to mysick and pregnant wife.

Any last suggestions to speedmy process alongwould be greatly appreciated. I know my bed-ridden wife would appreciate it, that's for sure!

Nothing to add, just that it is a real PIA to replace.
You could have had the crank sensor shipped to the Goodyear and had them install it then you just picked up the truck.

Oh yeah, hard to get too or what?

That still is an option. If I think it's going to be too difficult or it needs to be on a lift to access it I may see ifGoodYear can install it for me.

Awe man...don't be doin' that.

One poster said it took him another buddy 30 minutes to replace the crank sensor. That's kind of what i'm going by. I don't know what the "other buddy" was doing to help, he didn't say. I can't imagine 4 handsin the way.

I'm guessing it will take me an hour soon or later I'll figure out what the "other buddy" wasdoing to help.
