"It's as simple as whipping up a laser cut adapter to hold the brake booster and powered column to the firewall."

I was about to make a smart*** comment about how that might not be possible for a lot of folks (and I say that as someone who has access to that kind of equipment) but then I actually watched the video and it turns out that you can send in your file and have it shipped to your door, that's pretty slick. It looks like he only had to pay $35 to have that part made. Reasonably priced one off custom fab work shipped directly to you is going to open a lot of doors and save a lot of old cars.

All of that said, I wonder how a module like that out of a Prius would hold up to the loads placed on it in a Disco or any other heavy vehicle/off road application.

And here I thought just changing the leaking gasket was the easy way out...

I’m tempted to try it just as a fun experiment. Going to do more research though.

I did some research on this.... 6 or 7nyears ago, maybe? It was difficult and expensive then by my recollection, but that's been quite some time. I'd be real interested to see it done.

My mercedes SUV has electic steering, I think Nissan uses it too. The motors would be easy, i think the conversion from the rotation of the column to the steering box would be the trick.

This guy put an electric steering into a Hummer:
The same principle could by applied to the Disco, but the motor would sit too close to the exhaust manifold.
