Oh, I would also recommend opening your oil pump service cover and thouroughly inspecting your drive gears. I know you don't have an '03, but while you've got the front cover off, you might as well inspect every part you can.

The water pump from '96 and up are all the same.
So a '96 water pump will fit a '04.
