Anyone with heads off the block?
Wow. That's something that would happen to me; trying to do an upgrade, when the original part is good enough, and most times better than the upgrade. Commiserations for all that work. At least you can get some $ recouped if you sell your sb, if not, more work reinstalling it -whew!
I’m waiting to get my rings and piston back from Hastings before bringing the issue up with the shop. I’m worried it might get ugly and they hold me ransom. I like to come to them with a proposal but no idea what to ask for. At minimum thinking cost of multiple gaskets from tear downs.
Agree, full refund. My God...you had it apart numerous times changng valley pans, ended up buying a different motor and doing the swap...and then you finally fixed it by changing the valve stems...not them. You gave them the correct seals and they decided to experiment with the chevy ones...not you.
I kind of misunderstood your other post asking about the chevy stem seals...l thought you were asking if you "should" use them this time around...not that they were already in there.
D&D Fabricating in Almont, Michigan knows these motors inside and out, for future reference.
Anyhow, glad she up and running again.
Brian.
