Radio issue (volume wont change/no sound)
Hello all!
I just recently purchased a 2003 discovery about two weeks ago and I absolutely love the vehicle. Upon new ownership, there is no sound at all, and the radio volume **** on the radio does not change the volume up or down. Also, the volume control on the steering wheel does nothing, but the seek button works. All radio buttons work such as changing stations, etc. However, the volume **** will work to change the bass level and treble level.
A few things I've done:
Resetting the radio by unplugging the battery for 30 min.
Removed head unit to see if any plugs/wires were tampered with.
Located the amp (under drivers seat?) to see if it was a blown fuse but I did not see a fuse on the amp.
It is the stock radio unit, and I was hoping to fix it before buying an aftermarket radio. I have searched forums to troubleshoot but no luck.
Thanks in advance all!

I had a similar problem with a 2006 lr3 HSE, I replaced al the blown fuses, pulled up the passenger door sill covers and discovered all the wiring soaking and submerged in water. I dried it all out and taped some corroded wires. The amp wiring is coated in a cover plastic. Works fine now. Water was coming in from broken sunroof drain line common problem. worth a look
