Anyone order engine parts from the UK?
I'm looking at a list of engine parts (bearings, push rods, lifters, etc) and got a quote of $270 shipped from the UK. The same list costs double from the cheapest US store, so where's the catch?
I understand there is import duty and possibly sales tax involved, but that surely cannot make up the difference?

I have a quote from http://www.britishparts.co.uk and compared to AB, British Parts of Utah and D&D. I have a farmer friend in the UK that drives Defenders and he orders from Brit Parts and suggested I try them. I worked on an exchange rate of 1.50, it's actually less than that but it compensates for credit card fees for forex transactions.
I'm an accountant... let's leave it at that.
Take a set of lifters for example, $220 at AB and $90 from the UK with shipping factored in, push rods $112 at AB and $25 from the UK. A set of rings (that's for 8 pistons) is $100 from the UK, I can keep on going, but you get the idea.
