Anything I should do while I have the front end torn apart?
Hey all! Well, what started as a simple differential replacement has now spiraled over the last few days into an entire front-end redo. I have new bushings, steering rods, shocks, springs, and hubs going in. I'm de-rusting and painting along the way too. So, while I have everything apart, what else should I be doing? I already plan on replacing the oil pan gasket. There's a leak coming from somewhere and it looks like it's coming from there. Super simple to replace it with nothing in the way. Anything else? I noticed the power steering hoses that run in front of the radiator are super caked with rust. The PS hoses aren't leaking though. So any reason to replace?
Also, fun find at the junkyard the other day... I went there to fetch a bunch of non-rusted fasteners and bits to replace all the rusty bits on this one (began it's life in PA, what little time salt takes to make a mess) and the disco at the junkyard had nearly new terrafirma steering and panhard rods on it! Got all three for $40. What a deal!
Have you got ACE rams if so replace the ACE bush and ram dust cover, and when you say PS hoses are rusty I take it you are taking about the steel ones give them a good coat of a decent paint

steel rust, hoses rot
haha, I probably wouldn’t be able to do this kind of repair work if I didn’t know it was steel that rusts and not rubber hoses. Yes, I mentioned it’s the portion of the PS hose that runs in front of the radiator, which is made of steel.
OK if its in resonable condition if you cant paint it with a etching paint the give it a good coat of the thickest oil you have that will slow the rust down
