Do you know how to update the software? I bought the 2013.1.1 version and when I open the program it says "Update is ready to be installed, Version 2.13.1." but I thought I read somewhere not to update the software or it'll void your warranty.

Got any clue on that?

The issue with upgrading is not the Warranty (at least with the one I bought), but rather the fact that the software needs to be Activated. A bunch of the vendors don't have the ability to Activate it. They are shipping software that has been hacked. There are forums that will help with activation, but I'm not sure how long that will last. Also, even if you activate, if you try another computer, you will need to activate on that computer too.

I've succeeded in upgrading to 2013.2.2 and getting it activated, but I just updated my Tablet to Windows 8.1, and now it needs activation again. I'm trying to figure out a way around that, but so far, no luck.

The original version is working well for me (2013.1.1). Has anyone found a reason to update. At this point I think it's better to leave well enough alone.

Has anyone used the Autocom to do more than read and erase errors? If so please tell us.

I for one tried out the live mode that worked well. I would like to use it to read some temperatures will offroading, I wasn't able to find the correct inputs for this to be graphed.

I went through most of the OBD options (testing individual components, etc) but didn't mess with any of the options like bleeding the brakes or messing with the transmission. There's not a whole lot to be done. I also ran the ISS, came back clear but for some reason the first category "petrol" and the last category "Other systems(?)" say there was no response or something. Idk if that's a software level error or what. There are also a couple of options that say "not supported by the vehicle" when I try to use them.

I'd like to know if there's any added functionality with the updates too. And do we really need to turn the internet off when we use it? I don't think I did but didn't notice any issues.

I reset my Transmission Adaptations. It shifted much smoother afterwards.

I have not yet checked the differences between the .1 and .2 versions. I'm thinking there may not be anything in those. Between 2012 and 2013, there were some on the LR.

As far as turning off Internet, it's about not allowing the software to update, thus forcing you to Activate again. If you turn off Auto Update, it will not affect you at all. If the software ever asks you to update, "Just Say No".

I have to admit, I've bought quite a bit off these sites, and every time I sort of expect the item to not show up... So far, the only time I've been ripped off was from a transmission shop in Florida. $1100! Go figure.

This is the website I used. I'd give them a 5 star rating. Delivery only took about a week from Hong Kong. There was a constant update about the order and a DHL tracking number that was supplied. There was a $18 brokerage fee, but I come to expect that.

Does anyone know what this can't do in comparison to the Hawkeye or novocom? I have an intermittent amber ACE light, among other things, that I'd love to troubleshoot.
