Default Aux Light install...costs$$$

Hey guys,

I thought I would ask everyone for their opinion regarding the wiring of 4 Hella 500FF lights on my roof rack and 1 additional work lamp on the rear? I have the wiring harnesses as well as the OEM switches from R'sNorth that go on the dash panel. I do not have the proper tools or know how to wire them myself or I would. The electrical part is what get me confused.
I had a LR specific shop in my area quote me, they said it would be a 5-6 hour job (mainly to run wires so they are not exposed) at $94 an hour.
Personally I think this is pretty ridiculous, and I was hoping you guys can help me out.
Maybe this is the norm here...
Does anyone have any recommendatoins on where to get them hooked up (in the Fairfield , CT area).
Thanks
ROSS

I could see it taking that long to do a nice clean install where all the wires are hidden. Usually it takes me about 1.5 hours per set of lights to run the wires and make everything pretty. I would check the phone book or www.dexknows.com to find an automotive electronics installer in your area so you can at least get a second estimate for the job.

Check with a place like Best Buy. They may be able to do the install and charge a cheaper shop rate. I took my Dodge to Best Buy to have them figure out why my new stereo wasn't even though I did the install and had bought the stereo somewhere else.

That's a little bit more than what I paid, but thats fairly close to what you're going to find for the amount of lights and wiring that has to be done. I think i paid about $200 for two lights to be installed and with a switch as well. Obviously, try to get a second quote, but it will prob. be more of the same.

Yeah, what Cameron said.... Yours are going to punch through the roof to wire, and they will have to drop your headliner to make it clean.

Find a shop that has a better rate, though. If your headliner is saggin any, have it re-done. Take it and have the lights installed while the headliner is out. That will save you soe $$ and kill 2 birds.

okdiscoguy-
the shop said they would pop out the 2 side windshield panels (black plastic) between the door jam and the glass and go that route through the firewall etc. i dont feel too comfortable going through the roof if not necessary.
thanks for the input,
