Only way to really test the shocks is to pull them. Then compress them and see if they expand back out. Mine would not expand so I knew it was time to replace. To see if your springs are worn out, take the measurements of the heights on level ground. You can see what the height should be on your visor over the steering wheel.

THANKS!! That is what I was looking for!! Oddly my FLAKENS 255/55/18R are 28" tall and i see other saying tires of that size are 29" my tiny tires make the side view of my Disco look like a Camel lol i might just win a trophy! Lol
