Default Ball joint angle off?

This picture is taken from the driver/left-side wheel well.
Question: Is this ball joint angle seem odd to you? I don't know anything about steering linkage, but it seems to me they should be more in alignment. No?

I do have a mild steering/death wobble when I hit a bump going over 50MPH and when I turn cold out of a driveway from full to straight, it sounds like a low-frequency creak. Any thoughts?

While technically a ball and socket type joint, most people would call that a tie rod end. Ball joints usually bring to mind that joints that allow the knuckle to turn.

Anyway.... that could possibly be fine. Being a ball joint, it can move in various directions. It's most important for it to be tight. Is there any play if someone moves the steering wheel back and forth while you watch the joint?

You are running est it is by compressing it and determining how much wear is inside on the nylon casing.
So it failed at least 50,000 miles ago so it is not helping. May be time to inspect the entire steering components.

Tie rod end! That's it... Thanks, jafir.
Mike, I'll get under there and check all the steering components first thing tomorrow. I kinda like steering.

Will get back...
